HSE First Aid at Work (3 Day Course)
From 1st October 2009 there will be two levels of first aider recognised by the Health & Safety Executive (HSE), these are the First Aider At Work and Emergency First Aider At Work.
If you have more than one employee working at a location, the HSE requires you to undertake a first aid risk assessment to determine the number and type of first aiders that are required to provide adequate first aid cover.
This comprehensive HSE approved course is for people intending to act as a FIRST AIDER AT WORK. It is designed to give the First Aider the skills necessary to give effective life support, diagnose & treat injuries or illness, and maintain care and comfort of the casualty.
Students will learn a high level of practical skill and theoretical knowledge, so that they can deal competently with any situation that may arise in the working environment.
This course is available as an 'On Site' course at your venue.
The course includes:
Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation
The respiratory system
Care of the airway
Care of the unconscious patient
The circulatory System
Control of bleeding
Treatment of burns & scalds
Communication & delegation in an emergency
Treatment of shock
Recognition & treatment of common medical conditions
Treatment of poisoning
The skeletal system
Treatment of injuries to bones, muscles & joints
Accident reporting & First Aid at Work regulations
