Manchester Medical Services creates new not for profit, community team.
After many requests from numerous groups Manchester Medical Services Ltd. has taken the decision to form a community team of volunteers who will work alongside our contractors on certain events.
This team has been formed mainly due to the needs of individuals who:
• Have the required training to be a contractor but lack experience.
• Are studying medicine and need practical experience.
• Work full time and wish to progress to another area and would like to gain experience.
• Wish to provide medical attention but due to personal circumstances cannot be paid.
This new unit will be led by Stephen Leyland one of Manchester Medical Services longest serving contractors. Stephen has vast experience of managing community groups of volunteers with many years of active service in the volunteer sector.
This new team will in no way replace our contracted services but will simply be in addition to our provided staffing levels over and above the committed level of cover needed, volunteers will still be required to have medical qualifications and will be led and instructed by more experienced team members in order to learn on the job.
Speaking of his new role Stephen said “I look forward to this new exciting challenge and feel this will assist not only Manchester Medical Services but will provide extra sets of willing hands for the customer as well as allowing team members to expand their knowledge and accomplish their goals”
